Zagreb is the capital city of Croatia with around 1.000.000 inhabitants. It is a business, academic and cultural life centre of the country. Today’s city was founded with the assembling of two medieval settlements – Gradec and Kaptol – situated on the opposite hills in the 11th century. The historical centre is rich with baroque buildings, connected with beautiful squares, open markets, green parks and promenades. On the northern side rises Sljeme, the highest peak being the mountain Medvednica, where the popular ski tournament “The Snow Queen” takes place.
Zagreb is placed near European capital cities with which it is connected by motorways and airlines. With a mild continental climate and interesting surrounding, it offers high quality hotels and equipped halls to its visitors, which classifies it among one of the top congress and incentive destinations.
Zagreb surroundings, Hrvatsko Zagorje, is a region with medieval castles, burgs and wine cellars, then Plitvice lakes – one of the most beautiful national parks in Croatia.
